Themes of The Magician's Nephew
Friendship Friendship is a theme of this story for a couple reasons. One, Digory and Polly had to mantain a good friendship. If they didn't, maybe Narnia would have fallen to Jadis. Two, part of the story plot was that two kids with little friends, bonded and became best friends. It was the first thing that occured in the book.

Courage Courage is a big theme in this story. Throughout the entire plot, Digory and Polly had to be courageous. For example, when Uncle Andrew wisked them into the land called Narnia, they didn't know how they got there or where they were. They had to be brave again when Jadis was chasing them.

Perserverence Perserverence is relevent throughout the entire book. The whole time, Digory and Polly had to endure the tough conditions. First they had to walk through a dark wood between the worlds. They perservered. Next they had to perservere Jadis and her evil thinking. They did. Perserverence was clearly displayed through all of the book.
